Sosialisasi Penyakit Mulut Dan Kuku (PMK) Pada Peternak di Desa Kawengen Kecamatan Ungaran Timur Kabupaten Semarang

Abstract

Socialization of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in cattle in Kawengen Village, East Ungaran Subdistrict, Semarang Regency, was conducted to increase farmers' awareness of the dangers of FMD and preventive measures. This activity included counseling on symptoms, transmission methods, the importance of vaccination, and cage hygiene practices. The implementation method consisted of direct counseling and interactive discussions with 20 participants, including farmers and a team of lecturers from Darul Ulum University. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in farmers' knowledge of FMD, with the average post-test score showing a substantial increase when compared to the pre-test. Although this socialization had a positive impact, challenges such as limited resources and infrastructure still need to be overcome to achieve long-term success in FMD prevention in the village.
